Correspondence from Cark Heinrich Schultz ("Bipontinus") to John Torrey, dated 1853-1860. Schulz's first letter, dated June 2, 1853 is a long missive in French, discussing his own activities; those of some of his associates; and his enthusiasm at the prospect of exchanging specimens with Torrey. His second letter, on letterhead from Pollichia, the scientific organization he helped found, is dated May 5, 1860, and written in Latin. Obsolete and unresolved plant names mentioned include Actinella linearifolia, Actinella odorata, Calendulceae, Cassiniaceae, Cicoraceae, Cynthia virginica, Hieraceae, Pentachaeta bigelowii.
