Notes

Correspondence from N.B. Ward to John Torrey, dated 1836, thanking Torrey for his recent gift of North American plant specimens. Ward says he has sent all his Cyperaceae duplicates in return, and goes on to muse on his wide botanical interests. "You are kind enough to ask me what are my favorite tribes," he writes. "I feel it difficult to answer this question, as my love for them all just increases in proportion to my knowledge of them."
