Also issued with volume 1 imprint date 1771 (Stafleu & Cowan 11546a, designating this, the more common issue, as 11546b).

Signatures: volume 1. a⁸(-a8; a1+1[=a8?]) b-d⁸ e⁴, A-2E⁸ [$5 (-e4) signed]; 260 leaves, pages [72 unnumbered] [1-3] 4-448 + plates 1-21 22* 22-32 -- volume 2. pi1 A-2I⁸ [$5 signed]; 257 leaves, pages [2 unnumbered] [1-3] 4-496 [16 unnumbered] + plates 33-65.

Sixteen of the 66 plates (i.e. roughly a quarter) are signed "Rein sc. A.V." (Augustae Vindelicorum, i.e. Augsburg); cut lines and vestigial lettering (A-R) indicate that the engravings were printed for the most part 4-up, in general with Rein's signature in one engraving per plate. The plates are captioned with species numbers and names.
