Notes
This volume is a catalog of bird scale specimens collected on Southern Island Cruise (SIC) 9 on the Pacific Ocean in September and October 1965 for the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program. Locations include Howland Island, Baker Island, Christmas Island [Kiritimati], and McKean, Hull, Phoenix, and Enderbury Islands [of the Phoenix Group]. Records appear to be the same as those listed in Southern island cruise 9, 1965, part 1 : SIC 9 (island), although with fewer fields. Fields include field number, species, location, weight, and destination [type of preparation]. Field numbers span from 5756 to 5867. Some records have an "S" in the field number field, which may be an indication that scales were collected from those specimens. Species include Puffinus spp., Procelsterna cerulea, Pterodroma alba, and others.
