Field notes Vol. 132-139 are housed together in one box. All document New York Botanical Garden expeditions to Cuba in 1909-1910 by Nathaniel Lord Britton and associates.

Field notes Vol. 136 documents John Adolph Shafer's botanical collecting in Cuba in 1910 on a New York Botanical Garden expedition. It is comprised of a list of specimen numbers 3400-4492, collected January-March, 1910 in Cuba. The notebook includes dates and locations, and entries have very brief descriptive information on the plant and/or habitat. Most entries do not have the full plant name. There is also a 3-page list of missing Shafer numbers inserted.
