Notes

Field notes Vol. 171-175 are housed together in one box. They document New York Botanical Garden expeditions to Haiti in 1903, Florida in 1904, and the Bahamas in 1904, 1905, and 1907 by Elizabeth Gertrude Knight Britton, Nathaniel Lord Britton, and associates.

Field notes Vol. 175 documents George Valentine Nash's botanical collecting in the Bahamas in 1904 on a New York Botanical Garden expedition, with co-collector Norman Taylor. It is comprised of a list of specimen numbers 874-1474, collected October 10-November 6, 1904 in the Bahamas. The notebook includes dates and locations, and entries have very brief descriptive information on the plant and/or habitat. Most entries do not have the full plant name. An additional 18 loose pages that were folded into the notebook contain a list of specimen numbers 899-1008, collected by Nash in August-September, 1903 in Haiti.
