Flilippo Arena published under the name of his nephew, the abbot Ignazio Arena.

Engraved title vignette in v.1; woodcut head- and tail-pieces; initials.

Pagination, volume 1: VIII, 440 pages; volume 2: VIII, 167, [1] pages (final page blank).

The third volume comprises 65 double-page engraved plates. The first plate is a frontispiece with motto "Flora cuique suoi fruttus ex floribus offert", signed below "Philippus Arena adjuvante P. Mario Cammareri hanc et sequentes tab. fec."

Signatures, tomo 1: pi⁴ A-3I⁴; tomo 2: pi⁴ A-X⁴.

Some of the flower images are derived from Weinmann's Phytanthoza iconographia (1737-45), others are from Ferrari's De florum cultura (1633).
