The 7 black-and-white photographs document field work completed on Fanning Island [Tabuaeran], June 1968. The photographs show coastline views with Philip Palmer's house (island manager), the mouth of the lagoon channel, a monument and boat landing, Palmer's headquarters and a village. The images have captions on the reverse side that list location, date, photographer (C. D. Hackman), description (some include detail of images taken from USCG Planetree), and negative numbers (681, 691, 707, 712, 717, 718, 726).
