The 13 black-and-white photographs document field work completed on Starbuck Island, June 21 and 22, 1968. The photographs show coastal habitat, unidentified vegetation in coral rubble, Sooty Tern colonies in dense bunchgrass, a Sooty Tern on an egg, a Sooty Tern in flight, various views of central lagoons, a Lesser Frigatebird nest with egg, ruins on west end of island with vegetation (Ipomoea), and a close up of Ipomoea flower. The images have captions on the reverse side that list location, date, photographer (R. B. Clapp), description, negative numbers (283A-285A, 287A-292A, 294A-297A) and unknown identifiers (e.g. S17).
