"The finding in the Phelps Collection of a new subspecies of Myiophobus flavicans from Caripe, Venezuela, while at the same time there are two [Albert] Mocquerys specimens in the American Museum of the race venezuelanus (north-central and western Venezuela), also labeled 'Caripé,' has led to a review of all of all the Mocquerys specimens ... the accuracy of the Mocquerys 'Caripé' location has been questioned."
