Original manuscript notes and additions to the zoological works of Thomas Pennant (British Zoology, 1776) with water-coloured drawings of birds, possibly with intent to publish a later, revised edition (none such published). Pages of original text are interleaved with leaves containing extensive manuscript annotations written in a clear, sloped hand.

Includes 20 watercolours of birds attributed to Tunstall by Casey Wood.

First 50 pages of volume 1 contain historical information on the production and provenance of the manuscript, as well as a biography of Tunstall himself, taken from George Fox's "Synopsis of the Newcastle Museum."
