This field book contains field notes on birds taken from 24 March to 23 May 1982. Notes contain daily lists of various birds spotted in Virginia. Most of the birds listed were observed at Eike's home on 6207 Newman Road, Fairfax or in the surrounding area. Birds heard or seen from Fairfax hospital, listed on 5-21-82 are included. Birds sighted in other locations may also be included. Notes often include weather and temperature information, quantity, sometimes time spotted, and the sex of the birds. Eike spends roughly a week in the hospital, during which time his wife Claire takes over bird watching. Clipping of poem entitled "Retirement" by E. Culbreth is included.
