Four field notebooks detailing the collecting activities of Joseph S. Hunter during his participation in the California Academy of Sciences expedition to the Galapagos Islands from 1905-1906. One notebook describes the breeding practices and environments of various Galapagos birds. The other three notebooks contain chronological entries describing the daily observations, collecting, and activities of Hunter and other expedition members. The last book in the chronology is unbound.

Partial typescripts exist in both MSS.362, Ornithology and Mammalogy Dept. field note collection and MSS.240, Joseph S Hunter papers.
