An inserted table of contents contains a full listing of localities and corresponding collector numbers. This field book contains a specimen list of botanical specimens collected from 12 July to 5 August 1946 in various locations within the Caroline Islands and the Mariana Islands. Collector numbers 25527-26153 are included. Occasionally, notes become long and narrative, and will sometimes include general descriptions of area vegetation. Specimen list includes scientific name, date, locality, collector number, and sometimes physical description of the specimen that includes its measurements, color, and other information. Mariana Islands localities include Piti (Comarianas Hill, Guam). Caroline Islands localities include but are not limited to Yap Island, Gagil Island, Palau, Arakabesan Island, Ngeanges Island, and Kapingamarangi Island. Inserted at page 186 and 187 is a list of Islets of Kapingimarangi Atoll (south to north). Correspondence to Fosberg from William W. Diehl (Mycologist) about 23 of Fosberg’s specimens is inserted at the back of the book.
