An inserted table of contents contains a full listing of localities. This field book contains a specimen list of botanical specimens collected from 25 November 1945 to 9 June 1946 in various locations within the following states and island groups: Virginia, Illinois, Pennsylvania, California, Hawai’i, the Marshall Islands, the Caroline Islands, and the Mariana Islands. Collector numbers 24225 – 24941 are included. Occasionally, notes become long and narrative. Specimen list includes scientific name, date, locality, collector number, and sometimes physical description of the specimen that includes its measurements, color, and other information. Miscellaneous notes, a memo from Dr. John A. Stevenson to Fosberg, and a map of Tinian (Mariana Islands) marked with collecting station locations is inserted in the front of the book.
