Original logbook of the Albatross covering station numbers D2311-D2386 and H562-H589, recorded 5 January to 4 March 1885. Data recorded include station number (no.), date, machine, turns, correction, depth, shot or lead, bottom, bottom temperature, number of thermometer, correction, corrected temperature, air temperature, surface temperature, drift, trawl or dredge, sounding wire readings, dredge rope readings, serial temperatures, and general remarks. Remarks often include a list of the type of specimens caught including fish, mollusks, and other marine life.
