Abstract

A technique is described for collecting Culicoides in saline which facilitates the sorting of material and is suitable for blood meal studies, arbovirus isolations and most entomological investigations. Precipitin tests can be satisfactorily carried out on specimens maintained at room temperature in saline for periods not exceeding 48 hr.
