Abstract

Acridine orange is a fluorescent stain which greatly enhances detection of protozoan parasites in freshly dissected mosquito tissues. Lankesteria culicis (Ross), a protozoan parasite of Aedes aegypti (L), was used as a model to demonstrate this technique.
