Abstract

Protection times and minimum effective dose determinations were made on the hairless dog for several mosquito repellents against Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. Good agreement was found between the results from man and from the hairless dog. It is proposed that the hairless dog can be used as an efficient animal model for screening new repellents prior to toxicology testing and application to man.
