Abstract

A recessive mutant is described in Eretmapodites quinquevittatus. The mutant, white-eye (w), exhibits complete penetrance and uniform expressivity. It can be determined in the larvae, pupae, and adults of both males and females. Experimental cross data indicate that w segregates independently of sex (m), and that w is epistatic to red-eye (re).
