Abstract

A system developed for mass rearing Anopheles albimanus Wiedemann was used to produce ca. 3.97 X 105 male pupae/day for a period of 26 weeks. Innovations for drying eggs, use of thermostatically controlled heat traps, and feeding of defibrinated beef blood in prophylactics made from sheep intestine increased efficiency over that achieved previously.
