Abstract

A trap that uses CO2 as an attractant was designed to evaluate the residual effectiveness of candidate insecticides on window screening as protectants against biting midge invasions into houses or screened-in patio areas. The described technique has the advantage over an older technique by reducing handling of midges, and consequently reducing time and labor.
