Abstract

A new eye color mutant "Chestnut" wet has been described in the malaria vector mosquito, Anopheles stephensi. The chestnut eye color is a recessive sex-linked monogenic trait and is allelic with the genes for rosy and white eye colors. The alleles are recessive to wild and codominant to each other.
