Abstract

A total of 167 specimens of Aedes aegypti were collected from rural areas in southeast Texas. Of these 52 (31.1%) were larvae collected from tree holes with the remainder taken from ovitraps. These collections reconfirm the importance of tree holes as foci and represent atypical breeding sites away from human habitations.
