Abstract

The adult, larval and pupal stages of Culex (Melanoconion) glyptosalpinx, a new species from southern South America, are described and illustrated. The male genitalia of a related species, Culex (Melanoconion) intrincatus Brethes, are illustrated and compared with those of the new species. The known distribution and bionomics of the new species are presented.
