Abstract

Notes and records are provided for mosquitoes collected in Egypt west of the Gulf of Suez during field studies conducted in 1983. Biological data and species associations are presented for 175 separate collections. Seventeen species were collected, including a new country record and an undescribed species. Topotypic material was collected for five nominal species and the type series of three Culex species described from Egypt were located in repositories in Cairo.
