Abstract

Nine taxa of the genusPericalusMacleay from China are revised, with four new species described:Pericalusgibbosussp. n.(type locality: Putao, Myanmar; one paratype from Mêdog, Xizang),Pericaluseleganssp. n.(type locality: Mêdog, Xizang),Pericalusacutidenssp. n.(type locality: Longchuan, Yunnan), andPericalusobscuratussp. n.(type locality: Fanjingshan, Guizhou). Four taxa are newly recorded from China:PericalusornatusornatusSchmidt-Göbel (Yunnan, Hainan),P.obtusipennisFedorenko (Yunnan),P.amplusAndrewes (Yunnan), andP.duxAndrewes (Yunnan).PericalusformosanusDupuis is newly ranked as a subspecies ofP.ornatusSchmidt-Göbel. An improved key to world species of the subgenus Pericalus is provided, along with distribution maps and images of habitus and male and female genitalia for all Chinese species.
