Abstract

COI sequences were used as an initial clustering method to delimit putative species of the genusDudgeodesin the Philippines. An overview of the diagnostic characters of Philippine species and characters with high intraspecific variability are given. Six new species ofDudgeodesare described and illustrated:D. bauernfeindiGarces & Sartori,sp. nov.,D. freitagiGarces & Sartori,sp. nov.,D. luntianGarces & Sartori,sp. nov.,D. pangantihoniGarces & Sartori,sp. nov.,D. tabangGarces & Sartori,sp. nov., andD. vonrinteleniGarces & Sartori,sp. nov., all known from the nymphal stage. Supplementary descriptions are provided forD. pescadoriSartori, 2008,D. hutanisSartori, 2008,D. stephaniSartori, 2008,D. ulmeriSartori, 2008, andD. celebensisSartori, 2008. A key to the nymphs of PhilippineDudgeodesspecies is proposed.
