Abstract

The genusAtrachyaChevrolat is redefined based on study of the type speciesA. menetriesii(Faldermann, 1835). All Taiwanese species ofAtrachyaare transferred to three new genera:A. hirashimaiKimoto, 1976 andA. nitidissima(Chûjô, 1935) are transferred toNeochyagen. nov.;A. mediofasciataKimoto, 1976 is transferred toTsouchyagen. nov.;A. unifasciataTakizawa, 1978 is transferred toChinochyagen. nov. Two species are described:N. chengisp. nov.andN. tsouisp. nov.Atrachya bicoloripennis(Chûjô, 1938) andA. saramao(Chûjô, 1962) are regarded as synonyms ofN. nitidissima(Chûjô, 1935)comb. nov., andMonolepta tsouiLee, 2009 is synonymized withT. mediofasciata(Kimoto, 1976)comb. nov.Monolepta sublataGressitt & Kimoto, 1963 is redescribed and transferred toChinochyagen. nov.Taiwanese records ofMonolepta sublataare based on misidentifications and represent specimens ofC. unifasciata. Variablity of adult color patterns is discussed.
