I describe two new species of the previously monotypic, Chilean endemic nysonine genusCresson:C. mariasteaPacker,sp. nov. andC. salitreraPacker,sp. nov., redescribe the type speciesC. parvispinosus(Reed) and provide an identification key for the three species. I clear up the confusion associated with the original type material of the latter species by designating a specimen from the type locality as thelectotype. The new species extend the range of the genus northwards, one by over 1000 km. I suggest putative hosts for all three species, all of which are in the generaTachysphexorParapiagetia.
