Abstract

Two new species,Helochares guoiYang & Jia,sp. nov.andHelochares distinctusJia & Tang,sp. nov., are described. Two species are recorded for the first time from China:Helochares negatusHebauer, 1995 from Yunnan, andHelochares minusculusd’Orchymont, 1943 from Guangdong. Additional faunistic data from China are provided for the following species:Helochares hainanensisDong & Bian, 2021,Helochares nipponicusHebauer, 1995,Helochares sauterid’Orchymont, 1943,Helochares densusSharp, 1890,Helochares lentusSharp, 1890,Helochares neglectus(Hope, 1854) andHelochares anchoralisSharp, 1890. The Chinese fauna ofHelocharescomprises 16 species, 11 of which are illustrated in this contribution.Helochares crenatusRégimbart, 1921 is removed from the Chinese fauna.
