Abstract

The genusAspidophorodonVerma is presented including six new species from China namelyAspidophorodon capitatumQiao & Xu,sp. nov.Aspidophorodon longicornutumQiao & Xu,sp. nov.Aspidophorodon reticulatumQiao & Xu,sp. nov.Aspidophorodon furcatumQiao & Xu,sp. nov.Aspidophorodon longirostreQiao & Xu,sp. nov.andAspidophorodon obtusirostreQiao & Xu,sp. nov.Aspidophorodon cornuatumQiao 2015, is considered as a junior synonym ofAspidophorodon longituberculatum(Zhang Zhong & Zhang 1992),syn. nov.Two speciesAspidophorodon harvenseVerma andAspidophorodon indicum(David Rajasingh & Narayanan) are recorded for the first time in China. The genus is mainly distributed in East Asia and is represented by 15 species in the world of which 12 are found in China. Keys to the species ofAspidophorodonare given.
