Abstract

<br> The subfamily Chalciporoideae, an early diverging lineage within Boletaceae (Boletales), is ecologically significant and economically promising. However, research on species diversity within the subfamily in China is still insufficient. In this study, detailed morphological examinations and molecular phylogenetic analyses were conducted on specimens collected from various regions in China. Three genera in Chalciporoideae, viz.<br> Buchwaldoboletus<br> ,<br> Chalciporus<br> , and<br> Pseudophylloporus<br> were confirmed to be distributed in China; 16 species of the subfamily were confirmed to occur in China. Among the species recognized in China, four were newly described, viz.<br> Chalciporus aurantiolepidotus<br> ,<br> C. brunneus<br> ,<br> C. roseus<br> , and<br> Pseudophylloporus castaneus<br> . Two known species were redescribed, and eight other species were reviewed. Keys to the accepted species of<br> Buchwaldoboletus<br> ,<br> Chalciporus<br> , and<br> Pseudophylloporus<br> were also provided, respectively.<br>
