Abstract

<br> Four new species of the genus<br> Araeopteron<br> Hampson, 1893 are described:<br> A. maculas<br> sp. nov.<br> ,<br> A. simaoensis<br> sp. nov.<br> ,<br> A. submedogensis<br> sp. nov.<br> , and<br> A. kononenkoi<br> sp. nov.<br> , and<br> A. xanthopis<br> (Hampson, 1907) is reported for the first time from China. The new species are diagnosed based on the adult habitus and genitalia, and compared with related species. Meanwhile, the genitalia of<br> A. xanthopis<br> are illustrated and described for the first time in this study.<br>
