Notes

Unsigned, untitled, and unnumbered chromolithographic proof impressions of six orchid watercolor drawings, previously unpublished and probably destined for a 3rd series of Frederick Sander's Reichenbachia: orchids illustrated and described, the first two series of which were published in 1890-1892 and 1892-1894. | Large unsigned prints of orchids, possibly by H.G Moon, the same artist commissioned by Sander in 1886 to produce 192 orchid illustrations for the first two series of Reichenbachia. They measure 47 x 33 cm. on sheets 56 x 42 cm., and are printed in shades of green, white, gray, pink, yellow, and purple. Color bars of 8-12 colors, and register marks are visible in margins. Ms. captions--scientific names of the orchids--have been added in pencil in the margins, or on verso.
